Description:
| The Great Bay of Fundy will give painters a wild, exquisite and diverse seacoast environment and a chance to interact with the dynamics of weather and ever-changing light. This is a unique opportunity to concentrate exclusively on one’s painting. The program is based in the historic seaport town of St. Andrews, New Brunswick, a half-hour from the Maine, USA-Canadian border. An orientation day introduces diversified morning painting sites; afternoons are free for self-directed projects. Daily individual critiques occur through-out. Weekend activities may include: whale-watching boat cruises, nature hikes, camping and trips to surrounding islands. Sunbury Shores Art and Nature Center (our host for the program) provides a gallery, library, art supply store and a well-lit, spacious studio for work, storage, exhibiting, slide lectures and group critiques.
Cost includes tuition for three studio credits and accommodations in a spacious Victorian-style inn with private rooms and kitchen privileges, close to the waterfront and conveniently located near the art center, shops and restaurants.
