| This two-week course in Irish Studies is designed for those looking for an educational holiday in Ireland. The focus of the course is Irish culture and its place in a wider Europe. Included in the programme are lectures from some of Ireland's most prominent academics, as well as day trips to surrounding areas, city tour of Dublin, all site visits and evening events. Past evening events have included traditional Irish music evenings, theatre and poetry readings. Seamus Heaney, Nobel Prize winning poet, has been a regular contributor to the Summer School.
The Summer School draws its participants from a wide range of backgrounds, nationalities and ages.
