*** You will quickly feel at home on the LaSalle College Campus in downtown Montreal and be comfortable practising your new skills with fellow students and outside the classroom.
*** OUR INTENSIVE IMMERSION COURSES ***
Our intensive French or English courses provide the necessary language skills to go to community college or university. The program will prepare you too to be fully functional in a work environment where they need to use French or English.
- 12 sessions per year; sessions starting at the beginning of each month.
- 10 levels in French available each month.
- 10 levels in English available each month.
- 2 preparation levels for the English TOEFL and TOEIC exams.
- 22.5 hours of classes per week for a total of 90 hours per level.
- A maximum of 15 students per group.
- The first day of each session is reserved for the placement test.
*** OUR LEVELS ***
Each course starts with an oral and written evaluation test to determine the level that best corresponds to your abilities.
- The Beginner Levels (Levels 1 to 3).
At these levels, students acquire the basic knowledge necessary to be functional in everyday situations.
- The Intermediate Levels (Levels 4 to 7).
At the intermediate levels, students add to their basic knowledge and become more confident using the foreign language.
- The Advanced Levels (Levels 8 to 10).
More challenging texts are introduced, and the emphasis is put on speed and comprehension. Students start to focus on such skills as taking notes, summarising, making presentations and writing essays.
- The Pre-University Levels.
After finishing the English program, we offer students two pre-university level courses to prepare them for the international TOEFL and TOEIC tests of English as a foreign language.
*** ACTIVITIES ***
Our teachers take their students out on sightseeing or recreational activities. The school organises social activities. Trips outside Montreal are available from outside service providers.
*** HOMESTAY AND STUDENT RESIDENCE ***
Homestay in French or English-speaking families is available for all our students. Rooms can be rented in small student residences. The school will help students find an apartment. | |
