Description:
| Learn about American management practices and culture in this unique four-week Management Program for International Professionals. This program is designed for international management professionals with an intermediate to advanced English level who wish to communicate successfully in English-speaking formal and informal business settings. This four-week program provides an overview of the work style and culture of American organizations. The focus of the program is on communication techniques and specific business and management studies.
Participants have the opportunity to interact with other business professionals from around the world in a variety of settings. A multimedia lab component helps participants further strengthen their English and business skills in an individualized format. Classes are held four days a week, with a fifth day devoted to research, project development, field trips and business tours. The course consists of two components: COMMUNICATION SKILLS FOR BUSINESS PROFESSIONALS:
This component focuses on business writing and oral presentations; communication, including conflict resolution, negotiation and meeting facilitation; and business vocabulary and idioms. Participants also have the opportunity to take part in a guided independent project of their choice, which they present orally in an open forum at the end of the program.
MANAGEMENT LECTURES, SEMINARS AND FIELD TRIPS/BUSINESS TOURS:
In this component, experts in American and international management present lectures and seminars each week. Some of the topics included are management fundamentals, human resources, team building, leadership, decision making, time management, e-commerce, e-business, entrepreneurship, customer relations and marketing. Once a week there will be a field trip or a tour of a business in Northern California.
