The courses are delivered using a dynamic combination of authentic texts, specially developed course tasks, audiovisual materials and computer assisted language learning programs.
Course Timetable
The courses are organised as follows:
Small group or one-to-one sessions in the morning
Supervised self-access learning or business visits in the afternoon as per course specifications
Social or cultural activities in the evenings as arranged
Lunches Monday to Friday with a tutor on Executive and Business English courses
The business visits will be matched as closely as possible to the business interests of the student. By keeping the groups to a maximum of four students and a high level of personal tuition within the group, we can maintain the intensity and effectiveness of the course, so making it ideal for learners who have limited time to devote to improving their English. Beginners are welcome.
These courses may be converted to general English courses, with sporting/cultural activities.
Work Placement Scheme
To place an overseas work placement student with a suitable UK company for a period of 6 - 8 weeks.
To identify a project to support the student’s studies and areas of interest and the Company’s marketing/sales policy.
Both work placement student and a UK counterpart work towards a mutually supported NVQ language qualification or equivalent.
DEL oversees the project and delivers the language training.
Who is it for?
Students or employees particularly in the areas of export, import, travel, tourism, languages or secretarial/clerical with languages.
Business English Units –
Listening, Speaking, Reading, Writing
National Vocational Qualification (NVQ) from Oxford, Cambridge & RSA Examinations Board (OCR)
by e-mail.
Final Assessment may be done in a work placement in the UK at our centre in Hathersage – Brookfield Manor.
