| In the six-week graduate program, students may pursue Master of Arts or Doctor of Modern Languages degrees. M.A. students have the option of completing the program over a series of summers at Middlebury, or during one summer here and one academic year at the School in Germany, established in Mainz in 1959. The graduate program offers language, literature, and area stuides courses, as well as pedagogy and methodology workshops for teachers. These courses are taught by professors from Germany and experts from the United States who bring scholarly leadership and academic sulture to campus. Unlike most German university settings, the German School emphasizes small classes that provide an academic intimacy, relished by students who appreciate the closeness and availability of faculty. | |
