Description:
| The Electronic Commerce Concentration provides specialized study in the existing and future aspects of the World Wide Web. Areas of study include web architecture and design, electronic commerce technology, business applications, security issues, financing operations and strategies. The program will be devoted to both "B2B" (Business-to-Business) and "B2C" (Business-to-Consumer) electronic commerce. In addition, it will cover what can be learned from a wide variety of companies, ranging from purely electronic commerce firms, to "traditional" firms with significant e-commerce activities, and finally to "traditional" firms with little or no activity in this area.
Students enrolled in this program must have a personal computer notebook (portable) available for use in class. In the event that access to the Internet is required in class, wireless cards will be made available.
Program Requirements
The degree program comprises ten courses (40 credit hours). All students must, in addition, satisfy prerequisites. An overall cumulative grade point average of at least a 3.0 is required for graduation. Students with demonstrable skills in the prerequisite core or concentration requirements may apply to waive specific courses. Waived courses from the core or concentration areas must be replaced by an elective so as to meet the 40-credit-hour requirement. |
