Imagine learning the archaeology of Jerusalem while walking the streets of the city, examining its ancient walls and seeing its historic buildings. Take a course on prospects for peace in the Middle East in light of the current events unfolding daily in Israel. What could be more appropriate than studying the Hebrew language in the land of its birth? The majority of courses are taught in English, however there are some courses given in Hebrew and students with sufficient knowledge of Hebrew are encouraged to take courses with Israeli students in the faculties of Humanities, Social Sciences, and Science. Qualified students may also be able to take some courses in the Division of Graduate Studies. ......
Students are encouraged to spend a full year at the Hebrew University. However, since there are students who are unable to spend more than one semester away from their home university; provisions have been made for students to attend either the autumn or the spring semester of the program. Students who have not been exempted from Hebrew will be required to study in the Ulpan, an intensive Hebrew language course held prior to the start of the semester. | |
