Ecuador is one of the most fascinating destinations in South America with its array of vibrant cultures, historical Colonial architecture, volcanic landscapes, and dense rainforest—all in a nation no bigger than Nevada! From the Andes to the Amazon, Ecuador is an ethnically diverse country. Traditional arts, textiles, and ceramics tell the story of an Ecuadorian culture that dates from around 3,200 B.C. Four distinct regions—highlands, coastal areas, rainforest, and the Galápagos Islands (where Darwin studied and wrote about evolution)—make Ecuador an exciting country for you to discover while practicing your Spanish. Corporación AFS Programas Interculturales hosts more than 140 students from 19 countries each year. | |
