Description:
| This 3-week Spanish study abroad program is located in three very distinct locations: the typical Costa Rican “pueblo” of San Joaquin de Flores in the province of Heredia; the quaint mountain village of Santa Elena, often referred to as Monteverde; and the beautiful beachside town of Flamingo. Students spend a week in each location.
This program combines 2 weeks of homestay and a third week of accommodation in a hotel.
Classes are held in the afternoons, Monday through Friday. Class size is restricted to a maximum of five students per class, making it possible for each and every student to participate in directed – and spontaneous – classroom conversation in Spanish, which ECI believes to be essential to effective language study.
The program balances structured activities and free time. Morning excursions include dance and cooking classes, a humanitarian project, visits to nearby towns and museums, hiking, horseback riding, ziplining through the rainforest, swimming, language partner activities and sports.
Weekend excursions to other locations enable participants to explore pristine beaches, active volcanoes, jungle waterfalls, and so much more. | |
