Description:
| ECI offers high school students opportunities to become immersed in French language and culture during our homestay and dorm-based study abroad programs in France. All of our France 2009 programs are based in wonderful locations, and all include a 3-day visit to Paris and time on the Mediterranean beaches of the south. Each program will have a maximum of 30 students plus 3 full-time chaperones.
ECI's two intensive language study abroad exchange programs are based in Aix-en-Provence and in Toulouse, with portions in Montpellier, in the French alpine town of Gap, and in Paris.
For the first 2 weeks, students attend French classes in the morning and participate in recreational and cultural activities such as beach trips, kayaking, hiking, concerts, museum trips and more in the afternoons. Programs include weekend day-trips to towns within each region. Participants live with families near the language school or in a university-style dorm.
A one-week immersion experience with a carefully chosen host family follows, where students spend all their time interacting with the family, the family’s children, and friends of the children. They usually stay one student per family and do not attend classes during this portion.
Our third program is based in the Rhone Valley city of Lyon, with travel to the French Riviera and to Paris. Without formalized classes, our Lyon program emphasizes living with a host family with whom students can immerse themselves in the language and culture of France. | |
