| The Pre-College Artist Abroad Program at the Scuola Internazionale di Grafica (SIGV) in Venice, Italy is designed for motivated high school and pre-college students interested in the visual arts and graphic design as well as the Italian language and culture. The academic curriculum includes courses in art history, painting, drawing, print-making, book arts, photography, graphic illustration, digital imaging, Tuition for Summer term - $ 6,350; Fall term - $ 8,850; Spring term - $8,850; Academic Year - $17,360. Tuition includes all academic fees, textbooks, accommodations, roundtrip travel, on-site support, medical and travel insurance, and excursions in Europe. All forms of federal, state and local financial aid and scholarship awards can be applied towards the program tuition. Coursework is supplemented with sightseeing and cultural excursions in Venice, Veneto, Milan, Florence and Rome. Students earn 9 college credits.
[SCUOLA] The Scuola Internazionale di Grafica is a private visual arts and graphic design academy in Venice, Italy. Its international faculty consists of artists who lived, studied, worked and exhibited their art in museums and art galleries throughout the world. The Scuola's central location in the historic city of Venice is ideal for studying Italian art and design as well as language and culture. Students live in furnished apartments located in the central historical district of Venice, ten minutes from Piazza San Marco by foot, 15 minutes from the Scuola by vaporetto and two minutes from the closes vaporetto stop.
[EXCURSIONS] The program includes sightseeing and cultural excursions in Venice, the Veneto, Florence, Rome and Milan. An art history professor from the Scuola accompanies the group on most excursions so that students can explore the artistic and architectural beauty of Italy with in a cultural context.
