Description:
| Join Global Service Corps (GSC) for a one month, ten week, or long-term service learning program to raise HIV/AIDS awareness in Tanzania. Through GSC you will be able to engage in an enriching, hands-on service project that will be aiding local community interests. As an HIV program participant you will become more acquainted with the health care environment in Tanzania, and community oriented approaches to HIV prevention. Unlike most other comparable volunteer programs, GSC participants live with a Tanzanian family, who will graciously introduce the Tanzanian culture, cuisine and customs through excursions and daily interaction, providing a unique cultural experience not to be forgotten.
We encourage anyone with an interest global community service to apply-- no previous HIV/AIDS education experience is necessary!
In addition to our core HIV/AIDS project, GSC recently designed a program specifically for future health professionals. We have experienced great success with this program and will be offering the HIV/AIDS Internship on June 2 – August 10, and June 30 – September 7 2003. Spots are limited-- so APPLY NOW!
Another GSC first is a new summer day camp that provides opportunities for local youth to learn about HIV through an integrated curriculum that educates, entertains and builds community through athletic and arts-oriented activities. These programs are in addition to our year round HIV/AIDS awareness programs in local schools and communities.
Program fees are affordable and competitive, check with GSC for details. All program expenses are tax-deductible and academic credit is available.
