Description:
| International House Barcelona has been training teachers of Spanish since 1986. We currently train over 150 Spanish language teachers per year. We offer three basic course programmes, and can also provide tailor-made training programmes.
Introductory (or Pre-service) courses
These courses are designed for fluent Spanish speakers (either native or non-native) who would like to learn how to teach Spanish to foreigners. We offer these courses on both an intensive (full-time) basis, as well as an extensive (part-time) basis. The intensive courses last for 3 weeks (105 hours) and cover both theoretical and practical aspects of teaching.
Advanced Course for teachers
This advanced level training course is designed for experienced teachers of Spanish who want to continue to develop both their theoretical knowledge and their practical teaching skills. The course consists of 80 hours input as well as supervised teaching practice. Candidates are assessed on their coursework, which includes written assignments, observed teaching practice and a final project.
Methodology and Culture courses
These courses are designed for non-native teachers of Spanish who probably have some teaching experience. Teachers are given the opportunity to refresh and develop their teaching skills and broaden their knowledge of Spanish culture. These methodology and culture courses last 2 weeks (60 hours) and they are therefore run on an intensive (full-time) basis.
