| The Spanish emphasis course enjoys all of the outdoor splendor of the multi-element course including treks through rainforests, cloudforests, and around an active volcano (one 2002 course will even include a Costa Rica coast to coast trek), tree-climbing, waterfall rappelling, cave exploring, surfing and whitewater rafting, but it also includes a study of the Costa Rican culture and language. Learning through immersion is highly effective for all levels, so there is no minimum Spanish proficiency to join this course. All Spanish-emphasis courses are lead by bilingual instructors and at least one Costa Rican native.
