Description:
| Il Sillabo is a small Italian language school for foreigners based in San Giovanni Valdarno. The school is managed and run by a typical extended Italian family who provides a personalised service - in classes, in extra activities, in the local information. "Il Sillabo" proudly offers a highly specialized, professional service which embraces all the individual needs and objectives of its students willing to learn Italian. Through its various italian courses encompassing language, art and gastronomy "Il Sillabo" seeks with both passion and enthusiasm to spread Italian culture. Multimedia courses, specifically designed to be flexible, involving and non academic, gently guide students towards their objective in a pleasant, skilful way. Courses: Intensive Course; Super Intensive Course; Combined Course; Preliminary Course; Individual lessons. Special Courses: Drawing & Painting; Cooking lessons; Wine lessons; History of Art; Antique Furniture; Archaeology; Italian Literature; Ceramic.
Il Sillabo offers five levels of Italian language classes: Beginners, Elementary, Intermediate I, Intermediate II, and Advanced.
Italian language courses are held by professionals drawn from outside the school. All teachers follow a method based on student communication, participation and involvement. Students are continually
invited to practice the linguistic knowledge they have acquired, starting from a text they have read, listened to, or watched. However, Italian language lessons are planned by considering different students needs and requests. Teaching aids and equipment are based on videotapes, cassettes, reading material, recordings of telephone calls, broadcasts and telecasts, or transcriptions of actual conversations, newspaper and magazine articles, as well as grammar frames and exercises. Textbooks are for the first four levels, but sometimes a teacher may decide not to use a text book for a certain class. The school reserves the right to provide students with other teaching materials, if necessary.
Activities in class range from role-playing, short sketches, activities in pairs to free and - if possible - guided conversation.
The final test is optional and even those students who don't undertake it obtain an Attendance Certificate.
Italian language classes comprise a MAXIMUM OF 10 STUDENTS, although the yearly average is less
Italian language lessons are held from Monday to Friday, usually from 9 am to 1.15 pm (with a break from 11.00 to 11.15 am), and occasionally in the afternoon. Textbooks and/or teaching materials such as photocopies are included in the prices.
The minimum age for enrollment is 14 years. There is no maximum age.
Average age is 31 years. | |
