Description:
| The ICYE programme in Costa Rica started in 1968. The present National Committee ACI "Asociación Cultural de Intercambio" was founded in 1983. Most co-workers and staff are former exchangees. Nearly all of them are living in the San José area.
The programme is aimed at 19 to 28 year olds. Just about all exchangees will be living with host families.
There is a large variety of projects including working with children, at environmental projects caring for endangered species and the preservation of the rain forest, or volunteering for human rights NGOs and youth organisations.
