Description:
| The capital (population about 1 million) spreads along the northern coast. Old San Juan, a walled in section in the center of the city, has a great deal of colonial charm and character. Buildings and churches are well maintained and painted various pastel colors. A free electric trolley runs around the old city. The metropolitan section of San Juan provides all the variety of a cosmopolitan center.
