Description:
| Our small, charming school offers both quality one-on-one instruction with your own teacher and group instruction. This is a very personalized program and is designed to help you learn at your own pace.
The school is located just 4 blocks from the Plaza Central and is housed in a traditional colonial style home with a large courtyard and garden. Classes are held in the 5 classrooms as well as in and around the garden. Additionally, there is a video and meeting room for afternoon activities. Students can have free receipt of email & faxes, coffee, tea and spring water is served between lessons. The school is within easy walking distance to the host families and all the attractions of Antigua.
Standard: 4 Lessons of daily instruction (20 lessons per week) or Intensive 6 lessons daily instruction. Our average class size is 2 students and we never place more than 4 students in a class. Lessons are 55 minute in length.
You will be given a placement test on your first day to evaluate your level and identify your individual needs. Groups are organized in a way that they will always consist of students possessing the same level of Spanish. Furthermore, students can choose to take private, personalized classes (one on one instruction). Generally, courses are divided into nine levels: Beginner (3), Intermediate (3), Advanced (2) and Superior (1) depending on previous knowledge of the Spanish language.
The school normally offers 2-3 organized activities every week, which could include: visits to local areas of interest, dance classes, cultural classes, parties & fiestas, Spanish languages videos & movies, seminars & discussion groups. You may need to pay "out-of-pocket" expenses (bus fare, entrance fees, etc.) when activities take place outside of the school.
Weekend excursions are also available and are arranged via local tour operators. Excursions are offered to different places of interest throughout Guatemala and even neighboring countries. | |
