Description:
| The Department of Overseas Studies is an integral part of the University of Haifa which welcomes international students from over 30 countries. Students live and study with Israeli students who are enrolled in the University's regular BA degree programs. All of the courses in the Department of Overseas Studies are taught in English and are fully accredited. Students with requisite Hebrew proficiency can take courses in all the other departments of the university. Students may enroll in the Department of Overseas Studies for the full academic year or for the Fall (October through January) or the Spring (Febuary through June) semesters.
The Department of Overseas Studies offers a diverse interdisciplinary program in Hebrew and Arabic languages, Israel and Middle East Studies, Comparative Religious Studies, Archaeology, Literature, Fine Arts, Communications, Psychology. Honors Programs in Psychology, Peace and Conflict Studies, and Jewish Culture and Civilization are offered, as well as an extensive program of internships for credit.
Students can take advantage of an extensive extra-curricular program of lectures, events, and trips and tours throughout the country to get to know Israel. Overseas students also participate in the on-campus activities of the University of Haifa's Students Association including pop concerts, discos and film series. All full-time students are eligible for on-campus dormitory housing, with Israeli roommates and/or suite-mates. | |
