Description:
| The Pre-College Artist Abroad Program at the Scuola Internazionale di Grafica (SIGV) in Venice, Italy, is designed for motivated high school and pre-college students interested in the visual arts and graphic design, as well as the Italian language and culture. The academic curriculum includes courses in art history, painting, drawing, print-making, book arts, digital photography, graphic illustration, digital imaging, web design, Italian language, history and society. Coursework is supplemented with sightseeing and cultural excursions in Venice and the Veneto region, Milan, Florence and Rome. Students earn 9 college credits for a 1-month program, and an additional 6 credits for the 2-week August program.
[SCUOLA] The Scuola Internazionale di Grafica is a leading visual arts and graphic design school in Venice, Italy. Its international faculty consists of renowned artists who lived, studied, worked and exhibited their art in museums and art galleries throughout the world. The Scuola's central location in Venice is ideal for studying art and design as well as language and culture.
[LIVING] Students live together in furnished apartments located in the central historical district of Venice, 5 minutes from St. Mark's Square, and 15 minutes from the Scuola by waterbus.
[EXCURSIONS] The program includes sightseeing and cultural excursions in Venice, Veneto, Florence, Rome and Milan. An art history professor from the Scuola accompanies the group on most excursions so that students can explore the artistic and architectural beauty of Italy with in a cultural context.
[TUITION] The 1-month Summer (July) program tuition is $5,850. Tuition includes all academic fees, accommodations, program coordinator from USA, on-site staff, travel and medical coverage, mobile phone, excursions in Italy, access to the Scuola facilities, and activities. | |
