Description:
| Available for an academic year, fall or spring semester, fall quarter, the program is open to freshmen, sophomores, juniors and seniors with a 2.5 minimum GPA. No previous Spanish study required for the Spanish/English program. Beginner Spanish courses include English summaries. Two years previous Spanish study at the college level is required for the intermediate Language and Culture program, three years at college level for advanced Hispanic Studies. Orientation in Granada entails 80 contact hours (five semester credits) of Spanish language study. Transcripts issued by the University of Granada. Student visa must be obtained from the Spanish consulate before departure from the U.S.
Students are housed and have three meals a day in a Spanish household.
Cultural activities include day trips to Cordoba and Seville, the Alhambra and excursions to the beach and the Sierra Nevada mountains as well as an optional tour to Morocco, North Africa.
AIFS program fees are $9,795 per quarter, $9,495 per semester or $17,690 for an academic year and include tuition, housing and meals, free outbound flight, cultural activities, 3 day London stopover before the program begins, services of an on-site Resident Director, week of travel in Castile visiting Madrid, Avila, Segovia and Salamanca and services of a pre-departure Student Advisory Center.
Application deadlines are May 15 for academic year, fall quarter or semester; November 1 for spring semester. Scholarships are available. | |
