Description:
| The International Partnership for Service-Learning, founded in 1982, is an incorporated not-for-profit educational organization of colleges, universities, service agencies and related organizations united to foster and develop programs linking volunteer service and academic study for credit. The International Partnership administers 15 undergraduate programs in 12 nations, and offers an M.A. Degree program in International Service. Program locations include the Czech Republic, Ecuador (Guayaquil and Quito), England, France, India, Israel, Jamaica, Mexico, the Philippines, Russia, Scotland, South Africa, South Dakota (with Native Americans), and Thailand. Students earn 12- 18 college credits per semester and serve up to 15-20 hours per week. The programs are based at accredited universities and all aspects of the programs are conducted by in-country professionals. More than 4,000 students from 400 colleges and universities in U.S. and 25 other nations have participated in IPS-L programs. | |
