Description:
| The Quito Language and Liberal Arts Program immerses advanced students of Spanish in the cultural and ecological diversity of the northern Andean country of Ecuador, through direct enrollment in university coursework and fascinating, all-inclusive excursions throughout the country. Students in this program are considered full-time undergraduates at the Universidad San Francisco de Quito (USFQ), a modern private university located in the valley town of Cumbayá, on the outskirts of Quito. At USFQ, students enroll in five to six courses in the liberal arts and sciences for a total of 15-18 Boston University credits. Students have access to the full curriculum of USFQ. The program also features two week-long, guided excursions to the Galápagos Islands and the Amazon rainforest, two trips to the famous Otavalo Indian market, a guided tour of the priceless colonial architecture of Quito, and much more. University courses are taught in Spanish by USFQ faculty, and all excursions are led by qualified guides and accompanied by Boston University resident staff. | |
