Description:
| Students are enrolled at the Universidad Internacional Menéndez Pelayo in a prestigious
summer program of study that has been in existence for more than fifty years. The faculty
consists of university professors from all over Spain who choose to spend the summer in
Santander because of its rich cultural ambience. Students combine intensive language
classes, cultural excursions and homestay in a program that is designed to maximize their
learning experience. On weekends, students visit nearby places such as the Guggenheim
Museum in Bilbao, the medieval village of Santillana del Mar, Gaudi's Los Caprichos in
Comillas and the Peaks of Europe. In 2001, the group also visited Burgos, Madrid, Salamanca,
Segovia and Toledo.
To be eligible, undergraduate students must have the euquivalent of the first two semesters of
college level Spanish at North Georgia College & State University, i.e., Spanish 1001-1002.
Students must have a 2.5 GPA overall and two recommendations from professors. | |
