Description:
| IES Barcelona students, depending on their academic interests, will be registered at either the Universitat de Barcelona or the Universitat de Pompeu Fabra. The Universitat de Barcelona, founded in the 15th Century, is one of Spain’s leading research universities. The IES program is located near the Pedralbes campus, a short metro ride to the city center. The University of Pompeu Fabra was founded by the Catalonian government in 1990 and named after the scholar who established the structure and form of the modern Catalan language. IES Barcelona arranges extracurricular opportunities that help students learn more about the Spanish people and culture. Social and cultural activities, including tours to cities of historical interest, informal dinner parties, attendance at local theater and opera performances, and conversation exchanges with Spanish students, or intercambios, enrich students’ academic experience in Barcelona. | |
