| IES Beijing features intensive Mandarin Chinese language instruction, one-on-one language tutorials with native Chinese graduate students, and English-taught area studies courses. Founded in 1990, the program is located on the campus of the prestigious Beijing Foreign Studies University (Beijing Waiguoyu Daxue), popularly known as Beiwai. IES students have abundant opportunities to practice Chinese and integrate into Chinese society not only through close interaction with Chinese students on campus, but also through field study, internships, and extensive travel to distant areas of China and Tibet. | |
