Description:
| The IES Melbourne program is organized by the Australian Centre of the University of Melbourne, an outstanding research and teaching university. The Australian Centre, based within the Faculty of Arts at the University, has achieved national and international recognition for its work in developing Australian Studies and fostering an appreciation and critical examination of Australian society. The Centre is a leader in interdisciplinary teaching and research and is committed to the advancement of cross - cultural studies. The program consists of four interlinking modules, with students required to select two or three. This unique summer school introduces students to the history, cultural and political life of Australia. All students must take the class, Politics Society and Identity in Australia, which includes a three-day field trip to the sea-side town of Lorne. Students then may choose between Module B, with a trip to Central Australia, or Module C: An Australian Internship Program. Students can opt to continue with Module D after completion of Module B or C or depart the program. | |
