Description:
| Montserrat offers students seeking an international flavor a month-long summer program in Italy. Immerse yourself in Italian culture this July in the city of Viterbo, Italy where Franco Zefferelli filmed "Romeo and Juliet" and many Fellini movies were made. Montserrat holds a four-week summer residential program offering up to six credits (two courses) in Art History, Figure Drawing and Painting, Landscape Painting, Landscape Photography or Journal Writing. New in July 2002 is a non-credit Fresco Painting Workshop. The intensive courses, structured to accommodate students of different levels, meet daily Monday through Thursday. Art History students take Friday field trips which are usually open to all program members.
All courses are taught in English by experienced faculty from Montserrat and other area colleges. The program fee of $4075* includes roundtrip airfare from Boston, ground transfers, two courses, housing in group apartments, two evening meals per week and one day-long excursion.
Most courses are structured to accommodate students at different levels, from the beginner to advanced. Beginning photography is a prerequisite for the Photography course. These intensive courses meet daily Monday-Thursday, or at the direction of the instructor. Art History students have Friday excursions which usually are open to all program members. | |
