Description:
| NYU boasts one of the most spectacular sites on Florentine soil. Not many of us will have the chance to live and study in a 16th Century villa estate, housed on 57 acres, complete with the original gardens and a number of modern conveniences! The facilities useful to the academic program and students include: a cafeteria with a terrace overlooking the Tuscan countryside, a projection room for viewing films, multi-media equipped classrooms, and an ATM machine. Renovations last year to the villa complex retained the historic beauty of buildings that recall aristocratic times. Whether you prefer the flapper/pre-war costumes of Up at the Villa, the Victorian costumes featured in the film A Room with a View, or the unctuous fabrics of the Medici era, as in Caravaggio or Artemisia, NYU's Villa La Pietra has all the modern conveniences students require, while living and studying at one of the most beautiful sites in the world. | |
