Description:
| The Portuguese school year runs from October to June. You will attend public high school in either the mornings or afternoons during the week, with a focus on the sciences, humanities, and the arts, along with general subjects including language, math, physics, and philosophy.
You are encouraged to organize after-school activities with your friends, and AFS offers orientations, social gatherings, and excursions. A week-long exchange with another region may be planned in the spring. You are also invited to participate in an optional trip to attend academic festivities at one of Europe's oldest universities in May, at an additional cost.
