Description:
| Florence, an intellectual and cultural center, is the seat of The Arizona Program in Italy, which offers courses in various interrelated disciplines. The purpose of this program in Florence is twofold: to provide a means of in-loco study and enjoyment of the humanistic fields of knowledge for which Italy is justly famous, and to impart an awareness and an understanding of a foreign culture.
Courses offered during the Arizona Program in Italy will be taught in English or Italian by professors from The University of Arizona in conjunction with professors from The University of Florence. Classes will be held five days per week, Monday through Friday. This program stresses academic excellence, and class attendance is mandatory. Students must enroll for at least 12 credit hours: a maximum of four courses per semester is allowed. At least one course must be in Italian. All courses are subject to cancellations due to insufficient enrollment. Credits earned under this program are expressed in semester hours and provided on official University of Arizona transcripts. Since requirements for degrees differ among institutions, students should consult degree counselors to assure the applicability of credits to particular degree programs. | |
