Description:
| At the University of Westminster, you are right at the heart of London, Europe's largest capital city, with access to the finest galleries, theatres, museums, and libraries in the world. Founded as a polytechnic in 1838, the University of Westminster has a long tradition of innovation and of providing opportunities to students in the arts, business, science, and social sciences.
Assessment in the Autumn semester is based on either course assignments or examinations, enabling students to return home in time for the start of the U.S. spring semester. Spring assessment is based on course assignments plus examinations. Students will study four modules (classes) per semester. 2.5 - 3 credit units are available for each module. The student's work is assessed for final letter grades according to regular departmental standards, which usually include final examinations. At the end of the study period, a full transcript of grades is forwarded to the student's home university.
As a full curriculum university, students may enroll in classes in the following disciplines (this information may vary each semester): biological sciences, environmental sciences, physiology, psychology, architecture, urban planning, business and management, computer science, engineering, modern languages, English studies, media, design, communication, journalism and broadcasting, visual arts, and social sciences.
In addition to the classroom setting, the University of Westminster provides a series of orientations to assist American students in making the study abroad period a rewarding and exciting experience. These comprehensive orientation programs help students adjust academically, socially and culturally to life in the heart of London.
Housing is in the University residence halls. There are some shared rooms, although single study bedrooms are usually provided, depending on the residence hall. Bath and kitchen facilities are shared. Meals are not included in the cost of housing, but students can purchase meals in the university refectories. | |
