Description:
| This is an elective four-week May-term experience designed for teacher education students and hosted by the University of Wales Institute in Cardiff, Wales. Students enroll in EDUC 490: Intercultural Student Practicum in Cardiff and earn three credits for the experience. They are accompanied by a JMU faculty member and have practicum experiences in local public schools. Although the children speak English, there is a very different curriculum and a renewed interest in the Welsh language and history.
Day trips are planned to such places as Stonehenge, Stratford-on-Avon, the Cotswold, and a coal mine. Cardiff is also an easy train ride to Bath and Bristol. There may be an opportunity to end the trip in London.
