| With all that it offers - 2,000 years of history, a vibrant contemporary culture, spectacular museums - London offers an unforgettable semester abroad. Classes are held at the University of Delaware's London Centre, a beautifully restored Georgian townhouse next door to the one-time home of novelist Charles Dickens. After class, hop on the nearby London Underground (the "tube") and discover the museums, shops, markets and sights of the city.
The London Semester offers a variety of classes, from art history to political science to sociology. Our resident faculty - experts in their fields and on London, too - can take you to the places you read about. Class meetings often go beyond the London Centre to museums, galleries, theaters and government institutions. In addition, the London Semester includes several excursions open to all students. Past excursions have included: Hampton Court Palace, the home of Henry VIII; Bath; and Salisbury (Stonehenge, the Wilton House). E-mail accounts are also available - so you can keep up on the news from home, and keep your friends posted on your adventures.
Internships: Internships for credit are available in a variety of fields during the semester. Internships for pay are available in the summer; participation in the spring semester program is required.
Accommodations: Students will live in furnished flats, all with easy access to the London Underground, shopping and markets. | |
