Bond University is the first and largest private university in Australia. One of its primary, stand- out characteristics is its commitment to the individual. The university has only 2400 students and has the best staff to student ratio of any university in Australia. This allows for smaller classes and tutorials, and a level of academic support that is not seen at other universities.
Bond University has three 14-week semesters each year, starting in January, May and September and you can commence study in most courses in any one of these semesters. Students may take courses from any of our schools and institutes. Bond offers study in Business, Health Sciences, Humanities and Social Sciences, Information Technology and Law. Our law and business courses have been assessed as the best in Australia by the Graduate Careers Council of Australia, as have several degree courses within the School of Humanities and Social Sciences. One of our Law School graduates has won the internationally prestigious Rhodes scholarship. Our MBA students have also excelled in the Venture Planning competition, ‘Moot Corp’ held every year at the University of Texas, Austin. Bond has won the competition three times (1994,1996 and 2000) and been placed in the finals more times than any other University. In 2001 Bond came second to UNC-Chapel Hill and competed against world-class business schools such as Carnegie Mellon University, London Business School, Purdue University, University of British Columbia, University of Oxford and Fudan University, China.
A university is nothing without great teaching staff. Enthusiastic and committed, the teaching staff at Bond are always immensely supportive and encouraging to students. Our students and faculty come from every Australian state and from more than 60 overseas countries including Canada, Fiji, France, Germany, the Gulf States, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Japan, Korea, Malaysia, Norway, Sweden, Switzerland, Taiwan, Thailand and the United States. International students make up about 45 percent of the student body.
