Description:
| Study Italian language, culture, literature and history in Siena, a medieval city in central Tuscany that has remarkably preserved its Old-World culture. With its narrow streets, quaint alleyways and famous town square, Il Campo, Siena offers inviting avenues to your studies - and its location allows you to go on excursions to Florence, Rome and other major centers. Siena is an ideal setting for discovering the artistic, cultural and historical glories of this ancient Mediterranean country.
The Siena Semester, hosted by the Universita per Stranieri di Siena, offers classes in Italian language, art, culture and history. Courses will be supplemented by a variety of excursions - you'll explore museums and other attractions, and spend several days in the capital city of Rome, as well as a long weekend in Venice. Shorter trips will further expose you to Italy's artistic, cultural and historic treasures in places such as Assisi, Florence and Urbino. An on-site resident director administers all aspects of the program, assists students with academic and personal matters, and serves as a liaison to the University of Delaware.
Accommodation: Students will live singly or in pairs in private Italian homes. Bedding and linens are provided, as well as breakfast and dinner daily. | |
