Description:
| Duke University, in cooperation with Capital Normal University, will offer its 24th annual study program in Beijing. The summer term, June 10-August 5, offers a two-course, nine-week intensive Chinese language program. Fall term, August 18 - December 5, offers, in addition to language courses, a social science course and a directed research project course. Along with group excursions, independent travel is possible during the program and there is an optional guided ten-day study tour available in August. Students live in a newly renovated, air-conditioned university dormitory and during the summer term, a host family option is available for qualified students. Applicants who have completed one or more years of Chinese language instruction by the commencement of the program are invited from all accredited colleges and universities in the United States and Canada.
