The University is a lively place, and all students are encouraged to participate in the many cultural, educational and sporting pursuits available. There are over 130 clubs, societies and sporting groups on campus, with activities to appeal to almost every student. Students can take part in a variety of musical ensembles, such as choirs, orchestras and chamber music groups. International student clubs and societies arrange many social and cultural events. UQ Sport manages outstanding sporting facilities including an Olympic-sized swimming pool, sauna and spa, tennis and squash courts, an indoor sports pavilion, a three-level fitness center, outdoor playing fields and the Brisbane River which naturally supports the Rowing Club! The university offers both on-campus (10 residential colleges) and off-campus housing. The on-campus colleges consist of single study bedrooms with shared bathrooms. Off-campus housing is generally apartments or houses in the suburbs immediately surrounding the campus. Study Australia will assist in finding your preferred off-campus housing.
