Description:
| Experience a unique, challenging, and rewarding academic adventure in India. The University of Wisconsin's College Year in India program, founded in 1961, offers you the opportunity to study in one of three different sites in India--each one highlighting India's ethnic, religious, and linguistic diversity. Each site features intensive language study and allows you to learn about your surroundings firsthand by completing an in-depth, year-long field work project.
The program in India is divided into three parts: language study (6 credits), subject tutorials (6 credits), and a fieldwork project (12 credits). All instruction in India is provided by local faculty and experts.
A required preparatory summer session at the University of Wisconsin-Madison includes intensive language training worth up to 10 credits, as well as an in-depth orientation to South Asian life and cultures. | |
