Description:
| The school year runs from early February to mid-December, and the "Kiwi" school system is more formal than in the U.S. You will have a wider range of subjects during the year or semester, although you'll be asked to choose a focus. AFSers are usually placed in the equivalent of 11th or 12th grade of public school and study math, science, English, history, geography, and a foreign language. Extracurricular activities include music, drama, sports such as rugby and cricket, and cultural clubs. There are also AFS-sponsored camps with optional canoeing and hiking trips. | |
