| Embrace a country of natural wonders! Teaching in San Jose - i-to-i has been invited by the Costa Rican Ministry of Education to send teaching assistants into state elementary schools. Located in quiet suburbs around San José, such as Heredia and Alajuela, the schools have a laid back, small town feel, yet come equipped with conveniences to make your teaching experience comfortable. There is also easy access to weekend getaways. Near San José, working as a TEFL assistant, you help the main English teacher prepare and deliver lessons. Opportunities exist to join the children outside of class in sports, arts and crafts.
Teaching in villages or National Parks - If you want to live and work in a rural area, we can place you in quiet villages perched on mountain-tops, among coffee and citrus plantations – perhaps the villages of Cartago, Guapiles, Puriscal or Turrialba, the latter renowned for kayaking and white-water rafting. All are located within an hour’s bus ride from San José. Alternatively, you can teach enthusiastic park rangers in the National Parks. Teachers in the small villages and national parks will be the primary TEFL teachers and will be solely responsible for their lessons.
Teaching combinations - Because we have such a wide range of teaching opportunities in Costa Rica you can combine your experiences, how about: One month in San José as a teaching assistant, followed by a month in the villages as a teacher and then a month teaching park rangers. You can decide where you want to go and for how long (subject to availability). Placement is for three months. (Minimum two months.) Additional months available. | |
