Description:
| The University at Albany, in conjunction with the University at Buffalo, has administered the program in Madrid since 1970, making it a well-established American university program. Students study Spain's cultural heritage and recent modernization through coursework at the Instituto Internacional. Your interaction with Spaniards in and out of the classroom and the cultural excursions and field trips with the group serve to enhance your learning experience.
Our program features a selection of upper division undergraduate courses in advanced language, literature, art, history, and social sciences. Courses are taught in Spanish by Spanish professors. Classes are small, which encourages open discussion and provides ample opportunities for individual attention. You must have an intermediate-advanced or advanced level of Spanish language skills to be able to participate in these classes. Students with sufficient language skills are able to enroll in courses at the Universidad Complutense de Madrid. Those interested in this option should contact Albany for details.
