Description:
| This four week intensive French language program for intermediate and advanced students is held in Paris, the capital city of France. Classes are held at the Institut Catholique de Paris (IC) three to five hours per day and are supplemented by cultural activities and free time. Prior to commencing classes, students will be tested to ensure that they are placed at the appropriate level of study. There will be two guided afternoon excursions each week to major Parisian historic and cultural sites. Weekend excursions are offered by the IC for an additional fee. Excursion sites will most likely include the Chateaux de la Loire (France’s medieval castles), Versailles, Mont-Saint Michel and St. Malo. There will also be guided visits to the Louvres museum as well as a cruise on the Seine.
The IC offers a cinema club, showing classic French movies with discussion before and after. Students will be lodged in twin rooms at the Foyer International d’Accueil de Paris (FIAP) located in Paris’ 14th arrondissement. Students will be given a French Student ID card, allowing them to eat at the very inexpensive system of university restaurants, as well as granting them cheaper fares at most museums and other cultural sites. Students will also receive a “Carte Orange”, which allows for unlimited metro/RER transportation for the entire month.
