| The University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point has sponsored culture and language programs of study/travel in Germany since 1971. For students seeking language education that ranges beyond the bounds of the classroom and home campus, the spring semester in Germany offers the opportunity to experience Europe, Germany and especially Magdeburg the capitol of the state of Sachsen-Anhalt. Strengthen your knowledge about Germany and proficiency in German while studying with outstanding German instructors of German.
Enjoy living in the university community and having daily association with your peers in Germany. The itinerary is planned as CHICAGO-BERLIN-MAGDEBURG-BERLIN-CHICAGO. Magdeburg's central locations provide excellent bases for personal as well as for the group-sponsored side trips. Classes include a minimum of 12 credits in upper-level Culture and Civilization, and intermediate and advanced German language. This generally includes, but is not limited to, German 314 or 317, 320, 340 and 381. Classes are taught in German. Leader: A UWSP German faculty member leads the group throughout the Berlin entry tour and on to Magdeburg. The program fee includes airfare, room and most board in student dormitories on the campus of the Otto von Guericke Universität, local transportation, a weekend homestay, and extensive study tours. There is a 7-10 day study/tour of Berlin on entry and study tours from Magdeburg including: Wittenberg/Lutherstadt, Eisenach, and the Harz. | |
