| The University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point has sponsored culture and language programs of study/travel in Germany since 1971. For students seeking language education and culture that ranges beyond the bounds of the classroom and home campus, the fall semester in Germany offers you the opportunity to experience Europe, eastern and western Germany and especially MUNICH, the cultural heart of Bavaria. Strengthen your knowledge of Deutsch while studying with outstanding professors of German language, art history, political science and history. Enjoy living in the university community and having daily association with your peers in Deutschland. The itinerary is CHICAGO-MUNICH-CHICAGO-Munich's central location provides an excellent base for personal as well as group-sponsored side trips. Students may take 13-17 credits, upper division classes concentrating on the Humanities and Social Sciences: History, Political Science, Music Appreciation, Art History (taught at the world famous Museums of Munich - including the Alte and Neue Pinakothek); German Culture and Civilization, and German Language (101 and 211.) Classes are taught in English. Most classes are taught at the Hoch Schule für Politik / University of Munich by German Professors. (NO advanced German classes are available.) The program fee includes airfare, room and most board in Munich at a central pension near the University of Munich, one to two week homestays in Munich, and extensive study tours which may include : Prague, Berlin, Vienna, Salzburg, Füßen (Neuschwanstein), and Dachau. | |
