| Since 1977 the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point International Programs has provided uncommon travel/study programs to those who aspire to an education beyond the bounds of the classroom or campus; the Spring Semester in Spain offers Spanish language majors and minors the opportunity to experience Europe, Spain, and especially Valladolid and Madrid. The academic program of studies through the "Universidad Valladolid" include: "Lengua Española", "Literatura Textos", "Cultura y Civilización", "Comentario Textos", "Historia España Contemporánea", "Practica Español", "Socied y Economía" and "Tema s Monograficos". Classes are taught in Spanish. The travel itinerary is Chicago to Madrid. Return from Madrid or a northern European airport. Midterm study tour to include Madrid. The Spanish capital will welcome you in a one-week program which will include visits to the Prado, the Palacio Real, Residence of Spanish royalty, and likely El Escorial, the massive fortress home of kings built by Philip II. There will also be scheduled time for personal travel and exploration. Sponsored study tours; may include Toledo, Burgos, Salamanca, Segovia, Penafiel, etc. The program fee includes airfare, room and board in a family setting and study tours.
