Artists, art history buffs, art teachers and students will especially enjoy this focused excursion into India’s colorful and diverse culture. Led By Dr. Donald Stdtner, the tour highlights the art history of Indo Aryan and Dravidian Architecture (Sikhara, Nagara and Gopuram Styles), Sultanat, Persian, Mughul, Rajput and Deccani paintings, Chola Bronzes, Indo-Persian and Mori carpets and textiles, and the marble inlay technique, pietra dura.
Our Guide: Dr. Don Stadtner
Don Stadtner is a Ph.D of Indian Art History, University of California at Berkeley. He is a former Associate Professor of Art History /Asian Studies at University of Texas, Austin and taught at the School of Oriental & African Art in London. He is also a Fullbrigt scholar and Smithsonian Grant recipient.
Dr. Stadtner has published articles in Ars Orientalis, Archives of Asian Art, Orientation and Archeology Magazine. | |
