Description:
| As the world shifts from the Cold War era of the missile to an era where economic power is supreme, international business has moved to center stage. American University's International Marketing Semester in Brussels gives you the opportunity to explore business in the European Union (EU), the world's largest single market. In Brussels, you gain priceless "on-location" work experience in the business and political center of the EU.
Located at the crossroads of Western Europe, Brussels plays host to some of the most important organizations in the world. The EU, the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO), and hundreds of other international and private organizations call this cosmopolitan city home. Here you can combine marketing theory with practical experience. In your internship and seminar classes, you can meet, talk with, and question the policymakers and practitioners who shape the business and political environment of the EU. During class visits to international businesses and EU institutions, business experts share with you their insights on the EU's growth. You learn the insiders' perspectives on the business environment of the EU and on the future of U.S.-European business relations.
American University's Kogod School of Business and World Capitals Program developed the International Marketing Semester in Brussels for both business and nonbusiness majors. Classes are taught in English, the international language of business.
You can earn a full semester of American University (AU) undergraduate credit during the International Marketing semester in Brussels program. These credits are transferable to most colleges or universities. Courses include formal lectures, discussions, and other classroom activities with company representatives and officials from the EU. The following courses are offered in the program: International Marketing (3 credit hours), Consumer Behavior (3 credit hours), Business Practice in the European Union (3 credit hours), Internship (3 credit hours), and French Language (1 credit hour). | |
