| Imagine living in a country that is creating and shaping itself day by day. Like no other city in the world, today's Moscow is a city of rapid social change, turbulence, high hopes, and transition.
As a student in the World Capitals Program Semester in Moscow, you'll strengthen your Russian-language skills and learn about contemporary Russia from Moscow's experts in language, politics, business, and culture, while you earn a full semester of credit.
Through an agreement between American University (AU) and the American Council of Teachers of Russian (ACTR), you'll study Russian language under the guidance of experienced faculty from the International University of Moscow. You'll explore Russian culture and politics in a lecture course that provides a foundation for understanding Russia's current events and plans for the future. Depending on your interests and ability in Russian, you'll complete your semester with either an internship or an independent study project.
You'll earn a full semester of AU undergraduate credit during the Moscow program. These credits are transferable to most colleges or universities. The following courses are offered in the program: Russian Language (9 credit hours); Russian Civilization and Culture (3 credit hours); Russian Literature (2 credit hours); Internship or Independent Study Project
